What is a maintenance report?<\/h2>\n

A maintenance report is a document that contains specific information about your past maintenance actions and their effect on cost, assets, and business performance. In general, maintenance reports are used to track <\/span>KPIs and performance indicators<\/span><\/a> which the department identified as worthy to follow.<\/span><\/p>\n

For any report to be useful, it has to be:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Concise<\/b>: the report should be brief but comprehensive; presented in a way that makes complex data easy to digest.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Fact-based<\/b>: accurate; up-to-date; objective, based on hard data rather than opinions and speculations.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Reviewed in the proper context<\/b>: was downtime prolonged because a supplier delayed the shipment of an important spare part or because we didn\u2019t order it in time \u2013 context is crucial for decision-making.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    With a <\/span>CMMS<\/span><\/a>, the reports can be created at the level of parts, assets, floors, locations, employees, shifts, and so on \u2013 depending on what the organization decides to track.
